Revelation 1-3 – Day 11
Twice in these few words, we have the declaration from The Lord that He knows! He is the all knowing, all aware, Sovereign Lord. Many verses confirm that for us. But often when we have difficulties in our daily lives it is so easy to forget what He has said.
Revelation 2:9
I know your afflictions and your poverty — yet you are rich! I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
The Thought
This verse tells us that God sees the situation we think we are in, but doesn’t see it through the same eyes as we do. Sometimes He thinks the opposite!
Twice in these few words, we have the declaration from The Lord that He knows! He is the all knowing, all aware, Sovereign Lord. Many verses throughout the Bible confirm that for us. But often when we have difficulties or frustrations in our daily lives it is so easy to forget what He has said. That is why learning certain verses by heart is always a good idea. Here’s one example: I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
Another good thing that God would like to remind us of is that He is an ever present Lord. He told Moses that His name was I am (Exodus 3:14).
How sad that so many of us think we can hide things from Him. Not only is it sad, but it is a great mistake.
Action
Make a decision today to live as though God was walking by your side wherever you go, or sitting at your side wherever you stop. In fact, that is where He is whether you sense His presence or not.
Take some time today to praise Him and to thank Him for His continued presence, and faithfulness to you.
Read one of the chapters named above (Jeremiah 29 or Exodus 3), and relate them to the circumstances you are living through at the moment.
