The Spiritual Blessings – 19

As I prepare this study at the beginning of 2021, much of the world is in covid lockdown and churches are having to keep people separated. The public have such fear in their eyes, and we must share our faith with them. We must dare to pray for them.

Ephesians 2:21-22

In him all the parts of the building fit together and grow into a holy temple in the Lord. Through him you, also, are being built in the Spirit together with others into a place where God lives.

The Thought

Yesterday we imagined living in God’s house, today we see that He is longing to live in ours! By His Spirit He lives in each one of us, and when we meet together as church, He dwells in each one as well as in the place where we meet. That’s what church is, not a building, but a meeting of people who believe in Jesus.

Where two or three have come together in my name, I am there among them. – Matthew 18:20

It goes without saying that if there are more than two or three, Jesus is still there with us.

I believe we are living in the days when “church” will be more and more outside the church buildings. There will be more and more people praying over coffee breaks in their work places, more and more people praying for others as they see them looking not well in the street, supermarket, theatre, on the bus or in the train.

As I prepare this study at the beginning of 2021, much of the world is in some sort of covid lockdown and churches, if they can meet at all, are having to keep people separated.

The public have such fear in their eyes, and we must share our faith with them. We must dare to pray for them. You and I could be God’s chosen way of reaching them.

Action

Pray today for God to show you who He wants you to pray with or pray for.

Look for those who wear a Christian symbol, a cross of a fish badge, and dare to ask them about their faith. It could open an opportunity for future prayer times together.

Everyone you see today is either a member of God’s household, or a prospective member. He loves them all. He loves us all.
