Renewing the Mind – Day 1

Introduction

The Thought

Many years ago I was invited to speak about my visions of the Lion of Judah, in a women’s breakfast meeting. On arrival, I found that the organizer had, in obedience to the Lord, made a small wooden butterfly as a gift for each person. The butterflies were beautiful. But I was very surprised that the Lord hadn’t said to make lions! After all, the reason I was invited to speak was because the Lion of Judah had intervened dramatically in my life. What’s more, the leader of the meeting had read my book “Transported by the Lion of Judah”.

I didn’t understand what the butterflies represented. But I trusted the Lord enough to wait and see what He would do.

When I stood to speak, the first words that came out of my mouth were, “I used to be a caterpillar, and now I am a butterfly!” I almost looked round to see who had spoken, because it was not at all the way I had intended to start!

This was a French meeting and until that very moment I had not even known the French word for caterpillar!

I then talked about how God had hidden me away in a hospital far from home in order to bring about dramatic changes in my life. It was similar to the metamorphosis that happens when the caterpillar becomes a butterfly. I looked for butterflies in the Bible but there is no direct mention of them. But I discovered later that the word “metamorphosis” is!

This study began right there.

Action

As you begin this study, thank God for any changes He has wrought in your life. How have you changed since knowing Him?

If you are just getting to know Him, think about some of the things you would like Him to change in you.
