Followers of Jesus – Day 28
We stay with the picture of athletes or sportsmen for another day. Picture one of them in the gym doing the necessary exercises. A keen sportsman will go several times a week in order to keep fit. So it is with our christian walk with Jesus, we must stay fit.
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

If ever you have had a broken arm of broken leg, you will know that the natural healing is very slow, it takes patience and exercise to get a limb back to how it was before.
So it is with our christian walk with Jesus, we must stay fit in order to keep going at the pace He asks of us.
Make level paths for your feet is a quote from Proverbs Where we read “Make level paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways” (Proverbs 4:26). Some translations have “Give careful thoughts to the paths…”. I like that version. We must think about who we are, where we are going, and what we want to do with our lives.
This verse in Hebrews suggests that, not for us ourselves, but for others; for the healing of the lame and disabled. All that Jesus did and said while He walked the earth He did for the benefit of others. So should we!
We must be strong in our faith, ready and willing to pray and have the “right” word to give at any moment to anyone.
“Give careful thought to the path” of your life as it is today.
Ask Jesus today to help you strengthen your body and spirit so that you are prepared to help others on their search for Him or on their road towards Him.
Read Proverbs 4 and learn from the wisdom Solomon was giving to his son. Much of it still applies in our twenty first century culture.
