The Spiritual Blessings – Day 12

Ephesians 2:4-5

But God is rich in mercy because of his great love for us. We were dead because of our failures, but he made us alive together with Christ. (It is God’s grace that saved you.)

The Thought

Many people who are converted after a life spent in the grip of satan will testify that once they had become Christians they felt alive for the first time. What a wonderful spiritual blessing it is to feel alive, and to know that even if we die we will live.

In fact life with Jesus after death will be infinitely better than life on earth before death has ever been for any of us.

For many people across the world, being a Christian means persecution, separation, isolation, poverty and often imprisonment and death. Testimonies have been told, and books have been written by people who have experienced those things, and been conscious of the Spirit of God close to them throughout their sufferings.

What a superb gift spiritual life is, many of us who live in the “free” world do not appreciate the freedom we have in Jesus, nor the fact that He has made us ALIVE!

I hope that makes you jump for joy and sing His praises!

Being a member of God’s family means so much more than going to church once a week, and saying prayers once a day.

Jesus said in John 10:10 that He came to give us abundant life.

Let’s enjoy it today.

Action

Thank the Lord today that He has made you alive, and set you free from the power of sin.

Ask yourself what “abundant life” means to you, and pray that you can appreciate more of it as you grow in your relationship with, and your knowledge of God in all His forms, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Remind yourself regularly during this day that you are ALIVE in Christ, no matter what direction your day seems to be going.
