Creation – Day 28

Romans 1:25

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

The Thought

Much more of the Bible than we first realize asks us to recognise God as Creator. The enemy has been quite successful in spreading the lie that everything evolved “naturally” and persuading even many church-goers who consider themselves Christians, that the seven-day creation was impossible.

Paul, writing to the Roman church, does not waste time, but in the very first chapter he takes up the theme of not worshiping idols. Included in that is the worship of the human body and unhealthy sexual relationships which mankind was not designed for.

The Bible is clear that we must worship only our Creator God, and disobeying His rules can have a disastrous effect. Earlier in this chapter Paul expressed his scorn for those who don’t recognise God the creator and worship man-made things instead.

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man, and birds, animals and reptiles. Romans 1:22-23.

Paul goes on to tell us that this led to homosexuality!! How little we understand about the nature of sin! It is rarely a one-off action, but so often leads to other actions and leads others to go down the same wrong road. That’s what happened in the garden of Eden; Eve gave in to satan’s temptation and persuaded Adam to do the same!

Action

Praise God that He has never given up on mankind in spite of all our false ideas and ignorance of all He says in His word.

Read the first chapter of Romans and feel Paul’s frustration with this young church.

Pray for those you know who don’t believe the whole gospel, especially for any you know who are tempted by homosexuality. Pray for healing for them.
