Creation – Day 2

Isaiah 45:18

For this is what the Lord says — He who created the heavens, He is God; He who fashioned and made the earth, He founded it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— He says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other.”

The Thought

Before we get into a study of the week of creation it is good to remember that God is often referred to as “The Creator” throughout the Bible. He was clearly seen as Creator in the book of Genesis. Today we have a verse from the middle of the Bible. The last confirmation that God created the world is near the end, where we read:- And He swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it. (Revelation 10:6)

That seems clear to me, and as I am a Bible believing Christian I choose to accept what it says. I know that I will never understand the whole Bible with my finite mind.

There are many people who will argue, that yes, God created things, but not in 7 days. Others say that what we read in Genesis is just a summary, and it all happened naturally over millions of years.

Action

Take time today to think about what you believe about creation. Millions of people have been taught that man was a monkey millions of years ago. Or that a fish grew legs, and decided to live on the land. Think seriously about the possibility of those things. Ask God to show you His truth as you go through this study.

Pray for the revelation of truth by Holy Spirit for yourself and for those around you.

Ask yourself if you are prepared to accept things you cannot understand with your finite mind.
