Creation – Day 11
None of the stars are there by accident, everyone was designed to be part of a constellation. And all the constellations move together in formation around the earth. Astronomers and astronauts will tell us there are many more stars than can be seen from earth. The fourth day was busy!
He also made the stars. … And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
These five words: “He also made the stars” sound like an “off the cuff” remark, but it could be the title of a huge book. None of the stars are there by accident, everyone was designed to be part of a constellation. And all the constellations move together in formation around the earth.
Astronomers and astronauts will tell us there are many more stars than can be seen from earth. God’s fourth day was busy!
Psalm 147:4 He determines the number of stars and calls each of them by name.
David was humbled when he looked up at the heavens.
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? (Psalm 8:3-4)
Many people believe the stars foretell the future. This is obviously what happened at the time of the birth of Jesus resulting in the magi’s visit to worship the new King Jesus. (Matthew 2:2)
Please note that this is not an encouragement to read horoscopes which are not written by Christians. We are to seek the Lord about the future.
Take time to look at the sky tonight praising God for His amazing creation, the way it all works in harmony. Whether you can see the stars or not, thank Him that He put each one in place.
Pray for any you know who read horoscopes and dare to tell them what is written in Ecclesiastes 8:7 Since no one knows the future, who can tell someone else what is to come.
Read the “Lord’s prayer” and remind yourself that we are told to pray “Give us each day our daily bread” (Luke 11:3) Pray for God’s presence throughout your day today.
