The Last – Day 28

1 John 2:18

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

The Thought

Since John wrote his three short letters, many antichrists have come and gone, and the last hour seems long. But we trust the Lord, pray for His timing, and wait for His last hour!

There have been many antichrists that have manifested since John wrote those words. Satanists have thought, and still think, that by murdering or imprisoning believers they can kill Jesus again. Praise the Lord that He overcame death when He rose from the dead after that first attempt to destroy Him and all that He stood for.

Those who believe in Him will see Him in Heaven in all His radiance. John got a prevue of that too, and his amazing revelations that we can read at the close of our Bibles will not really be understood until we see them in reality!

Interestingly, the name antichrist is mentioned only in John’s writings, and he didn’t mention that name in his gospel, just 4 times in his 3 short letters.

In the letter we are looking at today, we read … every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of antichrist (1 John 4:3). That thing is an evil spirit, and as believers we can pray against it, we can bind it to stop its effect on us, and those around us. Whatever we bind on earth will be bound in Heaven (Matthew 18:18).

Action

Let us take that seriously today and start binding some of those antichrist spirits, so that the last great revival can continue to grow.

Read more of John’s short letters today and pray for inspiration concerning who you should pray for.

Praise the Lord for the exciting times we are living in.
